Short Film

Please enjoy my short film compiled from broken circus fortune train travel over the past year. Music by Erik Sanko. Stay tuned for a music video for the band Devics. Erik and I are making it together, it should be complete by June 2006.

Paintings

One night last winter, I had a dream of a completed painting. I woke up and make a quick sketch and wrote down the materials: chalkboard paint, chalk, and beeswax and promptly forgot about it. One week later, I went out to my studio and my friend who I rent my space from said- hey you guys don't have any use for this can of chalkboard paint do you, I'm going to throw it away. I swallowed hard and said, yes! I immediately went out and got some 4x4 panels and started, it was predetermined.

The end result- a grouping of seven almost totemic paintings (my first ever) all from chalkboard paint, chalk, tissue paper and beeswax. My first showing of them - May 2005- was in Brooklyn in a broken down industrial space turned gallery for the evening. Paintings #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, and #7. Black tie, home made antler VIP passes and glasses, antique red velvet rope, a beautiful woman named Raven attending to the list, each time a guest arrived their name was whited out so by the end of the evening there was no evidence of any guests having arrived. I guess the 72 empty bottles of Lanson champagne (our fearless sponsor) gave us some proof! Paintings #2 and #4 are sold. Look for the others at the John Derian opening...
